The Experience
June 29, 2009A photography session with Amber is always a unique experience. Amber is not a traditional photography studio by any means. Working with both film and digital mediums, she takes a fine art approach to all of her photography sessions, providing you and your family with photography that genuinely documents your unique individuality.
Amber will work with you to create art that you and your family will cherish for a lifetime. There will be an initial consult (either in person or over the phone, whichever you prefer) to discuss exactly what you’re looking to get out of the session. Whether it be portraits to share with friends and family, albums, or custom canvas artwork or display for your walls, sessions are always tailored to your individual needs. The session itself can take place in Amber’s studio, or a location anywhere in the Portland and surrounding areas (including the comfort of your own home).
Sessions are always fun- sometimes it feels more like a playdate for the kids, rather than just a photo session. Children always feel special during their photo session- they get to have fun, and there is always a surprise waiting for the little ones (no, don’t worry, they won’t leave here with a sugar rush
).
After the session, Amber works with every photograph individually, truly creating works of art. Each photograph is custom edited and retouched. Additional retouching is also available. Your photographs will be ready to view about a week after the session, in a password protected, private online gallery that you may also share with friends and family.
We will work together to meet the needs of your family. Many products are available such as: custom albums, fine art prints, canvas prints, etc. If you are looking for ideas for displaying your photographs, feel free to ask. Bigger is not always better- it truly depends on the space you are working with. Amber will discuss with you the difference between desk portraits and wall portraits, along with the different types of prints and finishes available.
By scheduling a limited number of sessions per week, Amber’s photography sessions are much more personal than the norm. Sessions can last anywhere between thirty minutes, to a few hours depending on the child or family’s individual needs. There is always plenty of time to feed a hungry baby, let the kid’s relax, have a snack, etc. That is life. As a mom to a very active seven year old little boy and a very “spicy” toddler, Amber understand the needs that young children and their families have.
